Confirmed coronavirus cases in Bangladesh have reached 240,746 with the detection of 886 more infections in the past 24 hours till Friday.
Besides, the deadly virus claimed the lives of 22 more people during the period to take the total death toll in the country to 3,154.
Of the new deceased, 17 are men and five are women. Among the total dead, 2,479 or 78.60 percent are men while 675 or 21.40 are women.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the information in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.
She said 586 more patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 136,839.
Prof Nasima said 3,684 samples were tested in 82 labs across the country during the period. With this, a total of 1,189,295 samples have so far been tested in the country.
In comparison with the tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the infection rate is 24.05 percent while the infection rate 20.24 against total tests carried out so far, she said.
The DGHS additional director general also said against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 56.84 while the mortality rate is 1.31 percent.
On Thursday, Bangladesh reported 21 deaths from coronavirus and 2,199 cases.
