Oryx Biotech is going to invest US$ 300 million (Tk 2,500 crore) in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City to produce medicines for various deadly diseases, including cancer and AIDS, from blood plasma.

It will establish a plant at the city in Kaliakoir of Gazipur which will be capable of analysing 1,200 tonnes of plasma each year.

The information was revealed at a programme at the ICT Tower at Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday.

Summit Group Chairman Muhammed Aziz Khan said they will set up a plant at the Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City which will be able to analyse 1,200 tonnes of blood plasma yearly.

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said a 25-acre plot of land was allotted for Oryx Biotech at Block-2 of the high-tech city.
