The probe body formed by the Home Ministry to look into the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in police firing will submit its report on Monday (September 7).
All four members of the probe panel have been asked to submit the report to the Home Ministry being present in person, its convener Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Mizanur Rahman told Somoy News on Saturday.
He said they talked to all concerned, including suspended officer-in-charge of Teknaf Model Police Station Pradip Kumar Das, in-charge of Baharchhara police investigation centre Inspector Liyakat Ali and sub-inspector Nanda Dulal Rakkhit.
The probe body chief said they will put forward recommendations to prevent the reoccurrence of such incident in the future.
Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post in Teknaf upazila on July 31.
On August 2, the Home Ministry formed a three-member investigation committee to look into the incident. Later on August 4, the probe panel was reconstituted with Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Mizanur Rahman as its head.
Sinha’s elder sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on August 5 over the killing.
Thirteen people, including 10 policemen, were arrested over the killing of the former army officer.
