The second consignment of hilsa to be exported to India on the occasion of Durga Puja was sent to the neighbouring country through Benapole port on Tuesday.
A total of 63 tonnes and 240 kg of hilsa were exported in the second shipment, said Shamim Hossain, assistant revenue officer at Benapole Customs House.
He said hilsa is being exported to India at US$10 per kg under the duty-free facility.
Earlier on Monday, 12 tonnes of hilsa was sent to India in the first consignment.
A total of 1,450 tonnes of hilsa will be exported to India on the occasion of Durga Puja.
Last year, Bangladesh allowed the export of highest 500 tonnes of hilsa to India as a gesture of goodwill on the occasion Durga Puja.
