Voting in the by-polls to Dhaka-5 and Noagaon-6 constituencies began on Saturday morning.
The balloting that began at 9am will continue till 5pm without any break.
The Election Commission has already completed preparations for smoothly holding the election.
In both the parliamentary seats, voting is being held using electronic voting machines.
There are six candidates in the by-election to Dhaka-5 constituency -- M Kazi Monirul Islam of Awami League, Salahuddin Ahmed of BNP, HM Ibrahim Bhuiyan of Gano Front, Jatiya Party’s Mir Abdus Sabur, M Ansar Rahman Shikder of Bangladesh Congress and M Arifur Rahman of National People’s Party.
Awami League’s M Anwar Hossain Helal, BNP’s Sheikh M Rezaul Islam and M Khandkar Intekhab Alam of National People’s Party are there in the race in Noagaon-6 constituency.
The Dhaka-5 parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of Habibur Rahman Mollah on May 6 while Noagaon-6 following the death of Israfil Alam on July 27.
