Underscoring the need for creating public awareness to ensure safety on roads, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said dope test has to be arranged for drivers to ascertain whether they take drugs.
She made the remarks while addressing a function virtually from her official residence Ganobhaban marking the National Road Safety Day.
The prime minister said they were trying to ensure so that roads remain safe. “Even after that, accidents take place. We’re repairing after identifying where accidents take place, where accidents occur most and why accidents happen.”
She said the government will set up waiting rooms for drivers across the country.
Sheikh Hasina said it is necessary to ensure whether who drive vehicles take drugs. “This test is essential for every driver.”
She also said public awareness is very necessary for this.
