Coronavirus continued its second wave in many countries as the world recorded 496,864 cases in the last 24 hours till 10am on Tuesday.

In total, confirmed infections from the virus across the world have reached 47,320,376.

Besides, the death toll from the virus has reached 1,211,300 globally, according to data collated by tracking website Worldometer.

Of the currently infected 12,073,379 patients, 11,986,820 are in mild condition while 86,559 are in serious or critical condition.

So far, 34,035,697 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.

The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 9,567,543 and 236,997 respectively while India has 2nd highest cases of 8,267,623 and third highest fatalities of 123,139 and Brazil has 2nd highest deaths of 160,272 and third highest cases of 5,554,206.

Bangladesh has so far confirmed 410,988 coronavirus cases and 5,966 deaths.

Coronavirus has affected 216 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
