Bangladesh T20 skipper Mahmudullah Riyad is set to miss the playoffs of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he has been diagnosed with coronavirus.
The all-rounder underwent the swab test as it is mandatory for a passenger to obtain a Covid negative certificate to board a plane and his test came back positive.
He will now remain in isolation instead of catching the Pakistan-bound flight.
Uncertainty also looms large over his participation in the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 Cup following the diagnosis of Covid-19. He was supposed to captain one of the five teams apart from being an icon player.
Mahmudullah, who led his team to the title of the three-team 50-over tournament recently, was supposed to leave for Pakistan tonight (Sunday night) to play for Multan Sultans.
Along with Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal was also called up for the PSL playoffs for Lahore Qalandars.
