The world logged 672,500 fresh coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours till 10am on Friday, pushing the total infections to 57,236,291.
Besides, the virus has so far claimed the lives of 1,365,634 people, including 10,832 during the period, globally, according to data collated by tracking website Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 16,149,251 patients, 16,047,527 are in mild condition while 101,724 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 39,721,406 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.
The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 12,070,712 and 258,333 respectively while India has 2nd highest cases of 9,004,325 and third highest fatalities of 132,202 and Brazil has 2nd highest deaths of 168,141 and third highest cases of 5,983,089.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 441,159 cases and 6,305 deaths from coronavirus.
