The number of cases from coronavirus, officially known as Sars-CoV-2 which causes Covid-19, in Bangladesh has reached 460,619 with the detection of 1,908 fresh infections over the last 24 hours till Saturday.
Besides, the virus claimed that lives of 36 more people during the period, bringing the Covid-19 casualties in the country to 6,580.
Of the new deceased, 28 are men and eight are women. Among the total dead, 5,052 or 76.78 percent are men while 1,528 or 23.22 percent are women.
Coronavirus Update in Bangladesh

Currently, there are 78,154 active cases in the country.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information through a press release in the afternoon.
As per the press release, 2,209 more patients recuperated in the last 24 hours to take the total recoveries in the country to 375,885.
During the period, 14,012 samples were tested in 118 labs across the country. With this, a total of 2,743,592 samples have so far been tested in the country.
The positivity rate -- an indicator of the prevalence of the disease -- was recorded at 13.62 percent in the last 24 hours while the overall positivity rate is 16.79 percent.
The recovery rate in Bangladesh stands at 81.60 percent.
Bangladesh has one of the lowest case fatality rates or CFR, which measures deaths among Covid-19 patients, at 1.43 percent.
On Friday, the country reported 20 deaths and 2,273 infections from coronavirus after testing 16,378 samples with a positivity rate of 13.88 percent.
Bangladesh reported its first three coronavirus cases on March 8 last while the first death on March 18.
Meanwhile, coronavirus continues to rage the world which saw 679,893 infections from the virus over the last 24 hours till 10am on Saturday, taking the total to 61,988,054.
Besides, the virus has so far taken away lives of 1,449,114 people, including 11,279 during the period, in different countries, according to data collated by tracking website Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 17,750,292 patients, 17,645,044 are in mild condition while 105,248 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 42,788,648 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.
The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 13,454,254 and 271,026 respectively while India has 2nd highest cases of 9,351,224 and third highest fatalities of 136,238 and Brazil has 2nd highest deaths of 171,998 and third highest cases of 6,238,350.
