Gulshan Ara Begum, wife of embattled Dhaka-7 MP Haji Mohammad Salim, died at a city hospital on Sunday night. He was 50.
She breathed his life at LaiAid Hospital around 11:45pm, said Salim’s personal secretary Mohiuddin Mahmud Belal.
Gulshan Ara, also a former councillor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation, had been suffering from diabetes, kidney, hypertension and liver problems for long.
She was taken to Bangkok on December 16, 2018 for better treatment.
Gulshan Ara was brought back home on August 20 last by an air ambulance after 20 months of treatment there and admitted to LabAid Hospital.
She had been on intensive care unit for the last seven days.
Haji Salim is also under treatment at LabAid Hospital, said Belal.
The couple’s son Erfan Salim is now behind the bars over beating an official of Bangladesh Navy.
