A total of 694,872 infections from coronavirus were recorded across the world over the past 24 hours till 10am on Saturday, taking the total to 66,230,912.

Besides, 12,542 people lost their lives due to the virus during the period to bring the global death tally to 1,524,457, according to data collated by tracking website Worldometer.

Of the currently infected 18,894,049 patients, 18,541,022 are in mild condition while 106,136 are in serious or critical condition.

So far, 45,812,406 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.

The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 14,772,535 and 285,550 respectively while India has 2nd highest cases of 9,608,418 and third highest fatalities of 139,736 and Brazil has 2nd highest deaths of 175,981 and third highest cases of 6,534,951.

Bangladesh has so far confirmed 473,991 cases and 6,772 deaths from coronavirus.

Coronavirus has affected 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
