Dashing Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has fallen seriously ill.
Confirming the matter in a Facebook post on Saturday night, he said he fell unwell at the dressing room after getting out while playing for Fortune Barishal against Beximco Dhaka in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup, which forced him to return to the hotel.
Tamim said his body was unwell since Friday. “The condition worsened after returning to the dressing room after batting today. (I’m) feeling too weak. The BCB medical team advised me to return to the hotel soon after examination. I returned to the hotel a few overs after I got out.”
He also said he was scheduled to undergo different tests today (Sunday), saying he will play the Eliminator if he becomes well.
The southpaw also sought blessings from all for his recovery.
Fortune Barishal reached the Eliminator beating Beximco Dhaka by two runs in the match.
