After its Vice-chairman and journalist leader Shawkat Mahmud, BNP has served a show-cause notice on another Vice-chairman Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed for violating party discipline.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi confirmed the matter on Monday night.

He said Shawkat Mahmud breached the party discipline and misguided its leaders and activists.

Hafizuddin made some remarks on party senior leaders, Rizvi said.

He said Shawkat Mahmud was given 72 hours while Hafizuddin five days to come up with the replies.

Contacted, Hafizuddin told Somoy News that he was yet to get the show-cause notice.
