Bangladesh on Thursday registered a further 1,134 infections from coronavirus over the last 24 hours to bring the total caseload to 496,975.
Besides, the fatalities linked to the virus, officially known as Sars-CoV-2 which is responsible for Covid-19, have reached 7,192 with the deaths of 36 more people during the period.

Of the new deceased, 27 are men and nine are women. Among the total dead, 5,489 or 76.32 percent are men while 1,703 or 23.68 percent are women.
Currently, there are 58,193 active cases in the country.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information through a press release in the afternoon.
As per the press release, 2,239 more patients recuperated in the last 24 hours to take the total recoveries in the country to 431,590.
During the period, 13,191 samples were tested in 140 labs across the country. With this, a total of 3,035,728 samples have so far been tested in the country.
The positivity rate -- an indicator of the prevalence of the disease -- was recorded at 8.60 percent in the last 24 hours while the overall positivity rate is 16.37 percent.
The recovery rate in Bangladesh improved further to 86.84 percent.
Bangladesh has one of the lowest case fatality rates or CFR, which measures deaths among Covid-19 patients, at 1.45 percent.
On Wednesday, the country registered 27 deaths and 1,632 infections from coronavirus after testing 17,025 samples with a positivity rate of 9.59 percent.
Meanwhile, coronavirus is ravaging the world with an unprecedented fury as it recorded highest deaths and cases in the last 24 hours till 10am on Thursday.
During the period, record 727,572 fresh cases were registered around the world to take the total to 74,534,155, according to data collated by tracking website Worldometer.
Besides, the virus killed 13,591 people, highest death toll in a 24-hour period since the pandemic, bringing the total casualties to 1,655,226.
Of the currently infected 20,506,395 patients, 20,230,370 are in mild condition while 107,498 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 52,372,534 people have made recovery from Covid-19 globally.
The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 17,392,618 and 314,577 respectively while India has 2nd highest cases of 9,951,072 and third highest fatalities of 144,487 and Brazil has 2nd highest deaths of 183,822 and third highest cases of 7,042,695.
