The government has once again extended the closure of educational institutions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Schools, colleges and universities will now remain shut until January 16, according to a notice issued by the Education Ministry on Friday.
However, Qawmi madrasas will remain out of the purview of the closure, it said.
Earlier on November 12 last, the government extended the closure of all educational institutions until December 19 due to the coronavirus prevalence.
On March 23, the government declared general holidays from March 26, aiming to prevent the transmission of coronavirus.
Earlier on March 16, the government closed all the educational institutions to contain the virus.
Later, the closure was extended in several phases.
However, the government withdrew the general holidays and lifted shutdown from May 31.
Meanwhile, the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent, Junior School Certificate (JSC), Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC), Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee and annual examinations at the secondary level have been cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
