Apart from the 3 crore doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to be initially available, Bangladesh will get 6 more shots by May-June next, said Health Minister on Monday.
He revealed the information at the regular Cabinet meeting.
The minister said a total of 9 crore doses of vaccine will arrive in Bangladesh with which 4.5 crore people will be vaccinated. “The vaccine will be given gradually. Health workers, elderly people and children will get priority,” he said.
He informed the Cabinet that vaccine will be available in Bangladesh at the end of January or beginning of February.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister underscored the need for strengthening the mask-wearing to chase away the second wave of the coronavirus which is ravaging the entire world.
