Prime Minister Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim has been hospitalised as he fell ill.
He was taken to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Wednesday night.
Ihsanul fell unwell on Wednesday afternoon. When contacted, Dr Mostafa Jaman, a physician of the Prime Minister’s Office, suggested that he be taken to hospital immediately.
Later, he was admitted to the BSMMU around 7pm.
Dr Mostafa, a cardiologist, said he visited the press secretary at his residence on Tuesday when he complained of dizziness.
He also said Ihsanul has long been suffering from heart disease, diabetes and kidney problems.
Further decision about his treatment will be taken after forming a medical board today, Dr Mostafa said.
