Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday urged his party leaders and activists to work unitedly to implement the decisions of the AL Local Government Nomination Board about nominating party candidates in the local government polls.
He made the call during a briefing at his official residence in the capital.
Mentioning that Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina is strict about organisational discipline, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said those who revolted against the party going beyond its decisions will in no be given nomination.
He said all will have to work unitedly to execute the directives of the party chief.
The AL leader also urged party men to stand by the cold-hit people, especially in the northern region.
He sought cooperation from all to the journey led by Sheikh Hasina to give democracy an institutional shape.
Quader called upon the opposition parties to play a responsible role in protecting the democratic values.
He also greeted members of the Christian community marking the Christmas Day.
