Covid-19: World sees record cases in 24 hours

The world registered record 746,672 new coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours till 10am on Friday to take the total caseload to 83,809,705.

Besides, the virus killed 13,672 people during the period, bringing the global death toll to 1,825,780, according to data collated by tracking website Worldometer.

Of the currently infected 22,658,179 patients, 22,277,311 are in mild condition while 106,388 are in serious or critical condition.

So far, 59,325,746 people have made recovery from Covid-19 globally.

The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 20,445,654 and 354,215 respectively while India has 2nd highest cases of 10,286,709 and third highest fatalities of 149,018 and Brazil has 2nd highest deaths of 194,976 and third highest cases of 7,675,973.

Bangladesh has so far confirmed 513,510 cases and 7,559 deaths from coronavirus.

Coronavirus has affected 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
