Former Tigers’ Captain and MP from Narail-2 constituency Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been made a member of the Awami League Subcommittee on Forest and Environment.
Ruling party General Secretary Obaidul Quader approved the committee on Thursday.
Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Diapnaker Talukder, Jafar Alam, Advocate Amirul Alam Milon and Nahid Ijahar Khan are also there in the committee.
Besides, 16 people have been chosen in the new committee as experts.
AL Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary Delwar Hossain said Mashrafe was picked for creating awareness about the impacts of climate change using his popularity.
Prof Dr Khandakar Bazlul Haque has been made chairman of the subcommittee while Delwar Hossain member secretary.
