Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday urged BNP to return to positive politics in the New Year.
He made the call while addressing a views-exchange meeting with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority from his official residence remotely.
About BNP’s announcement to oust the government through a mass upsurge, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said there is no material for a uprising.
“The interests of the country and its people don’t get priority in BNP’s strategy.”
About BNP’s threat to wage a movement, he said 12 years have already passed. “When will they launch the movement? People laugh at their movement threat.”
About the politics of Awami League in the New Year, the ruling party leader said the party will be made more organised and smart under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. “Organisational discipline will be strengthened,” he said.
