All the cricketers of the primary squad of Bangladesh National Cricket team and other support staff have tested negative for coronavirus in the first phase tests ahead of the home series against West Indies.
Thirty cricketers and those will remain engaged in the services of the Tigers, including field workers and support staff, gave swab samples on January 6.
All of them came back negative tests, said Chief Physio of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Dr Debashis Chowdhury.
He, however, said they will undergo the second coronavirus tests on Saturday. “Those who will be found negative in the second tests will enter the bio secure bubble,” he said.
Tigers’ Coach Russell Domingo, Pace Bowling Coach Ottis Gibson and Fielding Coach Ryan Cook and Computer Analyst Srinivas Chandrasekaran will also join them.
West Indies will arrive in Bangladesh on January 10 to play three ODIs and two Tests. The series will begin on January 20 through the first Test.
