Five Bangladeshi nationals who were held captive by Houthi rebels in Yemen for nine months returned home on Sunday morning.
They landed at Hazrat Shahjajal International Airport in the capital on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 7:20am.
The Bangladeshi came out of the airport around 9am on completion of the immigration the process.
The five Bangladeshi, who were working in an Oman ship, were going to Saudi on February 13 last year.
However, they were detained by Houthis in Yemen territory after they were caught in a storm in the Red Sea.
The Bangladeshi nationals were released following efforts of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, and Bangladeshi missions in Kuwait, Oman and Jordan.
They were taken under the custody of the International Organization for Migration after the release and they finally returned home through Dubai.
