The Cabinet on Monday approved the amendment to the Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance, paving the way for publishing the results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations.
The Cabinet gave the approval at its regular meeting, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni.
Earlier, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary of the Education Ministry Mahbub Hossain said an ordinance has to be promulgated to publish results of any pubic examination in any special circumstance.
The HSC results will be published by January if the ordinance is promulgated.
The HSC and equivalent examinations were not held last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
At a press conference on October 7, the education minister said students would be evaluated based on the results of their Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.
