The High Court on Monday granted bail to three underage convicts in the sensational of Rifat Sharif murder case.
The court passed the order after hearing separate bail petitions.
On October 27, a Barguna court sentenced six underage accused to 10 years’ imprisonment, four others to five-year imprisonment and jailed another one for three years in the murder case.
The court also acquitted three other accused as the allegations brought against them could not be proved.
The 14 underage accused were M Rashidul Hasan Rishan Farazi, M Rakibul Hasan Rifat Hawladar, M Abu Abdullah Raihan, M Waliullah Oli, Joy Chandra Sarkar Chandan, M Naim, M Tanvir Hossain, Nazmul Hasan, Rakibul Hasan Niyamat, M Sayeed Maruf Billah Mahibullah, Maruf Mallick, Prince Mollah, Ratul Sikder Joy and Aryan Hossain Shraban.
Earlier on September 30, another Barguna court sentenced six adult accused, including Rifat’s wife Aysha Siddika Minni, to death in the sensational murder case.
The five other convicts are Rakibul Hasan Rifat Farazi, Al Kaiyum alias Rabbi Akon Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, Rezwan Ali Khan Hridoy and Md Hasan. 
The court also acquitted four other accused -- Md Musa, Md Sagor, Rafiul Islam Rabbi and Kamrul Islam Saimun -- as the allegations brought against them could not be proved. 
The trial proceedings of the sensational murder case were completed in just one year and four months.
Rifat, 22, was attacked with sharp weapons near the main gate of Barguna Government College on June 26, 2019 while his wife Minni appeared to be trying to protect him from the attackers.
Twenty-four people were accused in the murder case filed by Rifat’s father.
The young man’s wife, Minni, initially named as a witness, was later arrested on July 16 of the year, and made an accused in the case.
The main accused, Sabbir Ahmed alias Nayon Bond, was killed in a reported gunfight with law enforcers on July 2, 2019.
On September 2 of that year, Md Humayun Kabir, investigation officer of the case, submitted charge-sheet against 24 accused, including 14 underage ones.
