Bangladesh beat West Indies by six wickets in the first game of the three-match ODI series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Chasing 122, the Tigers scored 125 for 4 in 33.5 overs to register the win on international return after about 10 months.
Tamim Iqbal scored highest 44 off 69 balls while Mushfiqur Rahim (19 not out) and Shakib Al Hasan (19) were the other notable scorers.
For the visitors, Akeal Hosein bagged three wickets for 26 runs in 10 overs.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and sent West Indies to bat first.
The visitors were dismissed for 122 runs in 32.2 overs.
Shakib, who returned to the cricket after serving a one-year ban slapped by the International Cricket Council for his failure to report corrupt approaches, captured four wickets for 8 runs in 7.2 overs.
Later, he was adjudged man of the match.
The second ODI will be held at the same venue on January 22 while the third and final match will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on January 25.
