The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expected that cricketers will be given priority for vaccination when the first lot of 50 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in the country.
If the jab is not available from there, the BCB will buy it for the cricketers and the process will be completed by February, said BCB President Nazmul Hassan.
While talking to reporters after the Bangladesh-West Indies first match on Wednesday, he shared their plan about vaccine.
The BCB chief said they want to bring back the cricket activities to normalcy as soon as possible through vaccinating cricketers.
He said apart from the 50 lakh doses of vaccine to be procured at the government level, more doses will come under the private arrangement in the middle of February. “We’ve heard that players will be given priority. It’ll be great if that happens.”
