Fog forces suspension of Chattogram-Dhaka flights

All the flights from Chattogram to Dhaka have been suspended due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram in a press release on Friday morning said the flights were suspended as those could land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka due to thick fog.

A US-Bangla Airlines flight from Malaysia with 150 passengers landed at the Chattogram airport around 8am after failing to make the landing at Dhaka airport, said Managing of Shah Amanat International Airport Wing Commander Farhad Hossain Khan.

Airport sources said over 500 passengers were scheduled to fly for Dhaka on three flights in the morning.

However, they were forced to wait at the airport due to the suspension of the flights on the Chattogram-Dhaka route.

The flight operation will resume once the situation returns to normalcy.
