The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has directed all educational institutions to complete all preparations by February 4 for reopening.

It asked schools and colleges to ensure health safety by the time so that those can reopen as soon as a directive is issued in this regard.

In its directive, the DSHE said safety of all concerned, including students, teachers and employees, will have to be ensured.

Besides, authorities were asked to take steps to clean the educational institutions and create a safe and happy atmosphere.

On January 15, the government extended the closure of educational institutions due to the prevalence of coronavirus.

The educational institutions will remain shut until January 30.

On March 16 last year, the government closed all the educational institutions to contain the virus.

Later, the closure was extended in several phases.

Meanwhile, last year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent, Junior School Certificate (JSC), Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC), Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee and annual examinations at the secondary level were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
