Mentioning that various efforts are on for the repatriation of Rohingyas, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said the government is observing the situation in Myanmar following the changeover there.
He also posed a question to the international community as to how long Bangladesh will bear this burden.
During a briefing at his official residence, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, expressed the hope that the international community will expedite the efforts realising the depth of the situation.
Turning to the politics, he said the meaning of election to BNP is to give them guaranty of victory.
The ruling party leader said BNP gave dead bodies to the election coffin while in power.
Alleging that BNP is trying to create unnecessary unrest, he said their programmes are synonymous to terrorism and violence.
