Mentioning that BNP’s qibla is now London, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday said they have engaged in a competition of falsehood to appease London, in an apparent reference to acting BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
He made the remarks during a briefing at his official residence in the morning.
Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, warned that BNP’s evil deeds will not go unchallenged.
He also described BNP’s Nayapaltan office as a factory of rumours.
Claiming that BNP leaders have no statements of their own, the ruling party leader said they read prescribed messages sent from the bank of the River Thames.
He said people do not vote for them as they know about the strength of the backbone of a party which cannot bring out a single procession although it has a 500-member big committee.
