Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has directed the authorities concerned to take steps to that all the people aged above 40 years can take the Covid-19 vaccine.
Senior Information Officer of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry Maidul Islam Prodhan informed the media of the minister’s verbal instruction on Monday.
He said the health minister directed for taking steps so that all the people above 40 years and family members of the vaccine recipients can receive the jab.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam at a briefing after the Cabinet meeting said people above 40 can register for taking the vaccine.
Citing prime minister’s directive, he said if anyone cannot enrol for vaccination, they can take the vaccine if they go to vaccination centres with their national identity cards.
As per the previous decision, front-line fighters and people above 55 had been able to register for the vaccination.
