Dhaka University authorities have written to the health and education ministries requesting them to vaccinate all the university teachers, students and employees against coronavirus on April 17 next.
DU Registrar M Enamuzzaman confirmed the matter on Thursday night.
He said they sent a letter to the two ministries on Wednesday.
In the letter, the DU administration urged them to take necessary steps for the vaccination of the teachers, students and employees.
The government has decided to reopen universities from May 24 next.
Resident halls of the universities will reopen from May 17 while classes will resume on May 24.
However, the decision about the reopening of schools and colleges will be taken after February 28.
On February 14, the government extended the closure of all educational institutions except Qawmi madrasas until February 28 due to the prevalence of coronavirus.
On March 16 last year, the government closed all the educational institutions to contain the virus.
Later, the closure was extended in several phases.
Meanwhile, last year's HSC and equivalent, Junior School Certificate (JSC), Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC), Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee and annual examinations at the secondary level were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
