A Dhaka court on Sunday refused to grant remand for cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session’s Judge passed the order.
On February 9, police submitted a charge-sheet before the court against Kishore, writer Mushtaq Ahmed who died in a Gazipur jail on Thursday and Rashtrachinta Dhaka coordinator Didarul Bhuiyan in the case.
Kishore and Mushtaq were arrested in the case on May 6 last year.
Rapid Action Battalion filed three cases in May last year against Mushtaq, Kishore and nine others on charge of tarnishing the image of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, hurting the spirit of the Liberation War and spreading rumours about Covid-19 and the army and other security forces on social media.
