Thirteen people suffering from cold, fever and respiratory complications -symptoms similar to COVID-19 disease -died in Cumilla, Chandpur, Barishal, Jhalakathi, Chattogram and Faridpur on Monday.
In Cumilla, BNP president of Debidar Upazila unit Manirul Haque, 78, died in his house in Bijlipnaja village of Debidar upazila.
Upazila Health Officer Dr Ahammed Kabir said Manirul was suffering from fever for past few days and died on Monday.
His samples were collected for coronavirus test, he said.
In Chandpur, three people died in Sadar and Matlab Dakshin upazila early Monday.
Ashutosh Acharji, 70, a village doctor of sadar upazila died at 9:30 am, said Sadar Upazila health and family planning officer Begum Polin who also collected his samples for Covid-19 test.
Another man Parimal Biswash, 65, of Baburhat area in Sadar upazila also died with cold, fever and breathing problems.
His samples were also collected for coronavirus test, said Polin.
In Matlab Dakshin upazila, a garment worker Moni Begum, 35, also dies in her house in Ghilatoli area, Medical Officer Razib Kishore of Sadar Hospital.
In Barishal, three more people including an elderly man died in Sher e Bangla Medical College Hospital, said Hospital Director Dr Bakir Hossain.
The elderly man was admitted to the hospital on Sunday while two others died after their being admitted to the hospital on Monday, he said.
Samples were collected from the deceased for coronavirus test, Dr said.
In Jhalakathi, a primary school teacher Sakhawat Mollah, 56, of Kheyaghat area of Sadar upazila died in his house early Monday.
His samples were collected for Covid-19 test.
In Chattogram, four people including a cop suffering from cold, fever and respiratory problem died.
The deceased were police constable Mamun Uddin, 28, Hospital staff cleaner Hasina Begum, 60, Homeopathy doctor Mantu Kumar Sheel, 60, and Habibullah, 79.
Additional Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Abu Bakar Siddique, physician of Chattogram General Hospital confirmed the matter.
Their samples were collected for Covid-19 test.
In Faridpur, a farmer Rubel Hossain who was infected with coronavirus died at his house in Krishnapur of Sadar upazila, said Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Purobi Goldar.
