Former Awami League MP (from reserved seat) Begum Kamrunnahar Putul died at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital on Thursday night. She was about 65.

Putul, also the wife of former Awami League MP Mostafizur Rahman Patal, had been suffering from fever and diarrhoea for the last three days as she recently visited the house of his son in Dhaka.

She breathed her last around 11:30 pm after she had been taken to the hospital, family sources said.

Meanwhile, a medical team collected her samples for the coronavirus test.

Putul was elected AL MP (reserved seat) in 1996 from Bogura-Joypurhat district.
