Domestic flight operations resume

After over two months of suspension, domestic flights operation resumed on Monday on three domestic routes on a limited scale amid low response from passengers.

Five flights left for Chittagong, Sylhet and Syedpur from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the airlines companies did not increase the fares even though they are transporting less passengers in compliance with the government’s health safety rules.

Two flights on Sylhet, one on Syedpur and one on Chattogram routes have been canceled due to passenger crisis.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Novoair and US-Bangla will operate 24 flights daily from Dhaka to Chittagong, Sylhet and Syedpur.
Of these, 11 flights will be operated to Chittagong, 4 to Sylhet and 9 to Syedpur. From June 1 to June 15, there will be 24 flights on the three routes.

The Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) said not more than 50 per cent passengers can be carried on each flight due to health hygiene reasons.

There will be one flight after 45 minutes. If a passenger has a body temperature of 99 degrees Fahrenheit and onward during the health examination, he will not be taken on the flight.
