Bangladesh reported its biggest rise in daily coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours till Thursday.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) registered 4,019 cases during the period to take the confirmed cases to 153,277.
With this, the total Covid-19 cases have crossed the 1.5 lakh mark in the country while daily cases crossed the 4,000 mark for the 3rd time.
Besides, 38 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours to take the death toll to 1,926.

Of the new deceased, 32 are men and six are women.
This is the biggest jump in coronavirus cases in the country since the first three cases were reported on March 8. Previous highest 4,014 cases were registered in the country on June 29.
The uptick in the number of new infections follows an increase in tests with 18,362 being carried out in the last 24 hours against Wednesday’s 17,875.
DGHS Additional Director General Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.
She said 4,334 more patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 66,442.
Prof Nasima said 18,362 samples were tested in 70 labs across the country during the period. With this, a total of 805,697samples have so far been tested in the country.
In comparison with the tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the infection rate is 21.89 percent while the infection rate 19.10 against total tests carried out so far, she said.
The DGHS additional director general also said against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 43.35 while the mortality rate is 1.26 percent.
On Wednesday, Bangladesh reported record 41 deaths from coronavirus and 3,775 cases.
Meanwhile, coronavirus cases have reached 10,803,599 around the world as of Wednesday morning.
Besides, the death toll from the virus has climbed to 518,968 globally, according to Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 4,256,333 patients, 4,198,374 are in mild condition while 57,959 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 6,028,298 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.
The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 2,779,953 and 130,798 respectively while Brazil is in the 2nd position with 1,453,369 cases and 60,713 deaths.
