Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms tweeted Monday that she has tested positive for coronavirus.

“I have had NO symptoms and have tested positive,” the mayor said.

Bottoms later said in an interview she has taken two tests for the virus this month, reports CNN. 

During an interview with MSNBC, the mayor also added she will self-quarantine at home for the next two weeks.

Meanwhile, Coronavirus cases have jumped to 11,740,062 around the world as of Tuesday morning.

Besides, the virus has so far claimed the lives of 540,677 people globally, according to Worldometer.

Of the currently infected 4,556,889 patients, 4,498,907 are in mild condition while 57,982  are in serious or critical condition.

So far, 6,642,496 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.

The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 3,040,833 and 132,979 respectively while Brazil is in the 2nd position with 1,626,071 cases and 65,556 deaths.
