As many as 3,706 corona patients have recovered in the last 24 hours as of Thursday, the highest number of recoveries recorded in one day in Bangladesh.
The number of patients recovered from the virus is also higher than the number of people got infected in the last 24 hours.
In a regular press briefing, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said 3,360 more coronavirus cases were detected during past 24 hours as of Thursday.
She said the total number of coronavirus cases in the country now increased to, 175,494 with the fresh ones.
She said 3,706 more patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 84,544.
In comparison with the tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the infection rate is 21.49 percent while the infection rate 19.40 against total tests carried out so far, she said.
The DGHS additional director general also said against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 48.17 while the mortality rate is 1.28 percent.
On Wednesday, Bangladesh reported 46 deaths from coronavirus and 3,489 cases.
Meanwhile, coronavirus has claimed the lives of 552,046 people around the globe as of Thursday morning.
Besides, confirmed coronavirus cases in different countries have jumped to 12,166,688, according to Worldometer.
Of the currently infected 4,549,870 patients, 4,491,551 are in mild condition while 58,319 are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 7,064,772 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.
