Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has warned that the government will take stern action against irregularities and corruption in the health sector.
He came up with the warning while addressing a coronavirus safety gears distribution programme through videoconferencing from his official residence.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said the offenders have no party affiliation and they must put under trial, no matter how powerful they are.
He said the drive is going on against those who are committing irregularities in the health sector. “No one from outside has identified the irregularities and the government itself has started a drive to check the irregularities.”
The minister said their government, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has taken a tough stance against graft and anomalies.
“The offenders have to face trial, no matter which party the culprits belong to, no matter how powerful they are. Those who are cheating with the helplessness of the people, the government, led by Sheikh Hasina, is firm on the principle of zero tolerance against them,” he added.
