Faridpur Zila Parishad Chairman Lokman Hossain Mridha died of Covid-19 at a hospital in the capital on Friday. He was 77.
Lokman, also a valiant freedom fighter, breathed his last around 11am at Sheikh Russel GastroLiver Institute and Hospital while undergoing treatment, said Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar.
On June 22, Lokman was admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital as he fell sick.
He tested positive for coronavirus the following day.
Lokman was shifted to Sheikh Russel GastroLiver Institute and Hospital in Dhaka on June 24.
Lokman Hossain was the vice-president of Faridpur district Awami League and president of the Red Crescent Society.
