Former Home Minister and Awami League Presidium member Advocate Sahara Khatun, who passed away in Thailand on Thursday, was laid to eternal rest on Saturday.
She was buried at Banani Graveyard following 2nd namaz-e-janaza at its mosque at 11am.
Earlier, her first janaza was held at Baitush Sharaf Jam-e Mosque at Tejgaon at 10am.
The body Sahara Khatun, also MP from Dhaka-18 constituency, was brought back home early Saturday from Thailand.
A special flight of US-Bangla Airlines carrying her mortal remains landed at Shahjalal International Airport around 2am, said its general manager (public relations) Kamrul Islam.
She breathed her last around 11:25pm on Thursday (July 9) at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok.
Earlier on Monday, she was taken to Thailand for better treatment.
On June 2, Sahara was admitted to United Hospitals Ltd in the capital with fever, allergy and old-age complications.
However, the report of her coronavirus test came negative.
On June 19, Sahara was moved to the intensive care unit of the hospital as her condition worsened.
As her condition improved, she was shifted the High Dependency Unit (HDU) from the ICU on June 22.
On the morning of June 26, she was again taken back to the ICU as her condition deteriorated.
