Bangladeshi nationals willing to go abroad must obtain coronavirus negative certificates from the government-approved testing centres following due process, the government has said.
The decision was taken at a virtual inter-ministerial meeting held with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen in the chair on Sunday.
It was also suggested to post the Covid-19 testing reports on websites of the concerned institutions so that the Immigration Department can easily verify those.
Meanwhile, a dedicated Covid-19 testing facility will be developed for Bangladesh nationals who will go abroad for work.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry will set up the dedicated testing centre for expatriates Bangladeshis.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam attended the meeting.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and secretaries of other relevant ministries were connected.
