Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said there will be the usual three-day public holiday during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha as the government is not going to extend it.

He also said no government official and employee can leave the work station during the holidays.

The minister came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting on the overall law and order situation in the garment industry on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at the conference room of the Home Ministry at the Secretariat on Thursday.

He said the workers of different industries and factories, including the RMG ones, will also be able to enjoy a three-day holiday during the festival. 

Asaduzzaman also said the Labour Ministry will decide on the July month’s salaries and allowances of the workers.

He said the RMG workers have already been paid June month’s salaries. The Labour Ministry will take a decision on their July month’s salaries, allowances and festival bonus at a meeting with BGMEA.
