Bangladesh confirms 1,892 more Covid-19 cases, new deaths

Bangladesh on Thursday reported 1,892 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, raising the confirmed infections to 332,970. 

Besides, the fatalities have reached 4,634 in the country after the health authorities announced 41 more Covid-19 deaths. 

Of the new deceased, 31 are men and 10 are women. Among the total dead, 3,613 or 77.97 percent are men while 1,021 or 22.03 percent are women.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information through a press release in the afternoon.

As per the press release, 2,746 more patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 233,550. 

During the period, 15,559 samples were tested in 94 labs across the country. With this, a total of 1,690,011 samples have so far been tested in the country.

In comparison with the tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the infection rate is 12.16 while the infection rate is 19.70 against the total tests carried out so far. 

Against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 70.14 percent while the mortality rate is 1.39 percent.

On Wednesday, Bangladesh registered 41 deaths from coronavirus and 1,827 cases after testing 14,755 samples.

Meanwhile, as the coronavirus is ravaging the entire world, so a good number of people are recuperating every day.

As of Thursday morning, 20,103,385 people have made recovery from the disease in different countries.

Meanwhile, the global death toll from the highly contagious virus has reached 908,000.

Besides, 28,025,181 people have so far been infected with the virus across the world, according to Worldometer.

Of the currently infected 7,013,796 patients, 6,953,258 are in mild condition while 60,538 are in serious or critical condition.

The US is the worst-hit country with highest cases and deaths in the world at 6,549,475 and 195,239 respectively while India has 2nd highest cases at 4,465,863 and Brazil has 2nd highest deaths of 128,653.
