Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said coronavirus will go away from Bangladesh automatically whether a vaccine comes or not.
“Covid will automatically go away from Bangladesh. I don’t know whether vaccine will be required,” he said while addressing a programme organised at the auditorium of Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons at Mohakhali, marking the National Mourning Day.
The minister said the number of patients at hospital is less as people are getting treatment staying at their residences.
He also expressed happiness that the infection and mortality rates from coronavirus have dropped in the country.
Bangladesh has so far reported 3,636 deaths and 274,525 infections from coronavirus.
The country registered its first three cases on March 8 last while the first death from Covid-19 on March 10.
Coronavirus which was first reported in Wuhan of China has affected 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
