Covid: US smashes record for highest daily infections, deaths

The US has broken the record for highest infections and deaths from coronavirus in a single day.
The country on Wednesday reported 260,973 cases over the last 24 hours to bring the national total to 21,857,616.
Besides, highest 4,100 deaths were registered during the period, bringing the death toll in the US to 369,990.
Earlier, the country registered previous highest 256,156 cases on December 18 while most daily deaths of 3,876 on December 30.
