Ten members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have been dismissed while 18 others suspended for failing dope tests.

Wahid Hossain, DMP deputy commissioner (Media), on Sunday said a total of 68 members were found positive after dope tests. “Of them, 10 were dismissed and 18 others suspended.”

Departmental cases have been filed against 43 of them while the process to take action against 25 others is underway, he said.

Those tested positive include seven sub-inspectors, five assistant sub-inspectors, five nayeks, one traffic sergeant and 50 constables, Awlad said.
